BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Sara Hegna (Brielle, N.J./Manasquan) won twice times to lead McDaniel at Bryn Mawr in Centennial Conference (CC) women's swimming action on Saturday.
Scoring:
- The Green Terror (5-5, 1-5 CC) defeated the Owls (2-6, 0-6 CC) by a score of 102-101.
Head of the Class: The following athletes won multiple events at the meet:
- Individually, Sara Hegna won the 200 IM (2:19.60). She was also part of the winning 200 medley relay (1:56.80).
- Individually, Blair Boyle (Springfield, N.J./Villa Walsh Academy) won the 200 free (2:05.03). She was also part of the winning 200 medley relay (1:56.80).
- Individually, Samantha Smith (Bangkok, Thailand/International School of Bangkok) won the 200 backstroke (2:15.47). She was also part of the winning 200 medley relay (1:56.80).
Striking Gold: The following athletes won a single event at the meet:
- Carly Deickman (Bishopville, Md./Stephen Decatur) won the 200 breaststroke (2:38.04).
- Cara Dube (Milford, Conn./Joseph A. Foran) joined Boyle, Smith and Hegna to win the 200 medley relay (1:56.80).
Precious Metal: The following athletes finished second or third in an event at the meet:
- Sara Hegna finished second in the 100 free (54.89 seconds).
- Blair Boyle finished second in the 1000 free (11:25.51).
- Samantha Smith finished second in the 50 free (25.89 seconds).
- Emma Perdue (Grasonville, Md./Annapolis Area Christian) finished second in the 200 IM (2:24.70). She was also third in the 200 backstroke (2:22.41).
- Cara Dube finished second in the 200 butterfly (2:33.15). She was also third in the 200 breaststroke (2:52.21).
- Joanna Wattenberg (Monrovia, Md./Urbana) finished second in the 200 backstroke (2:21.93).
- Maddie Gamble (Colora, Md./Rising Sun), Becca Sykes (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton), Joanna Wattenberg and Bryn Blanchard (Grasonville, Md./Annapolis Area Christian) finished second in the 200 free relay (1:45.86).
- Maddie Gamble finished third in the 200 free (2:06.82) and 100 free (58.85 seconds).
- Megan Gorsuch finished third in the 200 IM (2:29.68) and 500 free (6:03.26).

- Sara Hegan now ranks seventh in the 100 free (54.89 seconds).
- Samantha Smith now ranks eighth in the 200 backstroke (2:15.47).
For the Foes: The following Bryn Mawr athletes won events at the meet:
- Becca Adlai-Gail won the 1000 free (11:14.72) and 200 butterfly (2:24.75).
- Lil Oyen-Ustad won the 50 free (25.11 seconds) and 100 free (54.88 seconds).
- Maddie Schwimmer won the 500 free (5:32.59).
- Varuna Jasodanand and Ryan Griffin joined Schwimmer and Oyen-Ustad to win the 200 free relay (1:44.52).
