Geiger nets four goals in road victory

TOWSON, Md. – McDaniel scored the first 12 goals of the game in a 19-3 win over Goucher in non-conference women's lacrosse action on Wednesday.

Olivia Geiger (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) scored four goals to lead the Green Terror (2-1), who had 10 different players register a goal.

Alyssa Long led the Gophers (0-3) with a goal and an assist.

Lindsey Farrell (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) opened the scoring, finishing a free-position shot just 57 seconds into the game.

Farrell added another marker and Geiger and Emily Brownawell (Sparks, Md./Oldsfield) each scored twice during the 12-0 opening run over the first 21:57 of the contest. Brownawell also had an assist.

Megan Quattrone (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle Area) and Megan Kotelchuck (Crofton, Md./Elizabeth Seton) added multiple points during the stretch. Quattrone had a goal and assist while Kotelchuck had a goal and two helpers.

Long broke up the shutout with 5:24 to play in the opening half, making it a 12-1 game at the break.

Kotelchuck found Geiger 2:30 into the second half for her third assist and Geiger's third goal.

Farrell hit Giules Rossi (Parkton, Md./Hereford) for the sophomore's first goal of the year just 1:23 later.

After Long found Shannon Stull, Tori Arcilesi (Bel Air, Md./Harford Tech) finished a solo run for her second tally of the day.

Geiger then converted a free position goal and Kotelchuck scored twice in an 82-second span to finish her three-goal, three-assist outing.

Soleil Gagne and Rossi traded tallies in the final 4:37 to set the final margin.

Geiger also contributed six draw controls, four ground balls and five caused turnovers to her four goals while Quattrone added three draw controls and four caused turnovers.

McDaniel finished with a 37-8 advantage in shots and won 15 draw controls.

The Green Terror returns to action at Montclair on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
