LANCASTER, Pa. – Grayson Blanchard (Germantown, Md./Seneca Valley) was part of two program records to lead McDaniel at the 2018 Centennial Conference (CC) men's swimming championship hosted by Franklin & Marshall on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Scoring:

• The Green Terror finished seventh with 194 points. Gettysburg won the championship with 759.5 points, outdistancing Swarthmore by 216 points at the seventh-team championship.

Night Warriors: The following athletes advanced to the finals at the championship:

• Paul Van Nevel (Gaithersburg, Md./Poolesville) qualified eighth in the 200 IM on Friday with a time of 1:56.47. In the A Finals, he finished seventh with a time of 1:56.54. On Saturday, he qualified sixth in the 400 IM with a time of 4:14.10. In the A Finals, he finished eighth with a time of 4:15.92. On Sunday, he qualified seventh in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:55.40. In the A Finals, he finished sixth with a time of 1:56.11.
• Grayson Blanchard qualified 12th in the 100 butterfly on Saturday with a time of 53.10 seconds. In the B Finals, he finished ninth with a time of 52.40 seconds. On Sunday, he qualified 16th in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:02.46. In the B Finals, he finished 16th with a time of 2:01.97.
• Adam Halmy (Shenandoah, Texas/College Park) qualified 15th in the 100 breaststroke on Saturday with a time of 1:00.56. In the B Finals, he finished 15th with a time of 1:00.36.
• Jose Pac (Quetzaltenango, Guatemala/Inter-American) qualified 15th in the 100 free on Sunday with a time of 47.53 seconds. In the B Finals, he finished 16th with a time of 48.19 seconds.

Record Setting Performance: The following athletes established a record at the championship:

• The 200 free relay of Jose Pac, Grayson Blanchard, Nick Villareal (Fleetwood, Md./Berks Catholic) and Adam Halmy turned in a program-record time of 1:27.56.
• Grayson Blanchard turned in a program-record performance in the 100 butterfly with a time of 52.40 seconds.
• The 200 medley relay of Paul Van Nevel, Adam Halmy, Grayson Blanchard and Jose Pac finishing fifth with a program-record time of 1:35.89.

Top 10 Worthy: The following athletes achieved a mark that ranks in the program's all-time top 10:

• Paul Van Nevel now ranks second in the 200 IM (1:56.47).
• Van Nevel also now ranks third in the 400 IM (4:14.10).
• Grayson Blanchard now ranks sixth in the 50 free, finishing 25th (22.12 seconds).
• Blanchard also now ranks sixth in the 200 butterfly (2:01.97).
• Nick Villareal now ranks 10th in the 50 free, finishing 27th (22.31 seconds).
• Villareal also now ranks fifth in the 100 free, finishing 24th (48.53 seconds).
• Jose Pac now ranks fourth in the 200 free, finishing 18th (1:46.03).
• Pac also now ranks fourth in the 100 free (47.53 seconds).
• Brandon Loehmer (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) now ranks eighth in the 200 free, finishing 20th (1:46.58).
• Loehmer also now ranks fifth in the 1650 free, finishing 12th (17:16.47).
• Adam Halmy now ranks fourth in the 100 breaststroke, finishing 15th (1:00.36).
• Halmy also now ranks 10th in the 100 free, finishing 30th (49.35 seconds).
• The 800 free relay of Grayson Blanchard, Jose Pac, Paul Van Nevel and Brandon Loehmer now ranks fifth, finishing seventh (7:13.06).
• The 400 medley relay of Paul Van Nevel, Adam Halmy, Grayson Blanchard and Jose Pac now ranks fifth, finishing seventh (3:33.98).
