WESTMINSTER, Md. – Catholic won three of the four completed singles matches for a 5-2 victory over McDaniel in non-conference men's tennis action on Saturday.

Will Giles (LaVale, Md./Bishop Walsh) and Jimmy Wawrzynski (Westminster. Md./Westminster) teamed for an 8-3 win to lead the Green Terror (1-1) to a victory at No. 2 doubles.

Jan Lasota led the Cardinals (2-0) with a pair of wins. He teamed with Rob Alexander for an 8-6 win at first doubles before topping Giles in three sets at No. 1 singles. Lasota took the opening set 6-3 before Giles won the second set 7-5 to force a deciding set, where Lasota prevailed, 6-1.

Luke Shuck (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) recorded a victory at No. 2 singles for McDaniel. He dropped the opening set 6-3 before winning the second set 7-6 and taking the deciding set, 7-5.

Fifth and sixth singles remained unfinished after Catholic clinched the match and rain moved in.

McDaniel returns to action at Albright on Tuesday. Match time is 3:30 p.m.
