Box Score COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus scored five straight goals to break open a 4-3 game en route to an 11-6 win over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse action on Saturday.
Olivia Geiger (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) led the Green Terror (4-7, 0-4 CC) with two goals and a career-best 10 draw controls.
Amy Kohout led the Bears (6-5, 3-1 CC) with two goals and an assist.
Ursinus jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the game's first 8:26 behind goals from four different players. Kohout recorded a goal and an assist during the opening run.
Geiger finished an Abby Phillips (New Freedom, Pa./North Harford [Md.]) pass with 19:35 to play to make it a 4-1 game.
Emily Brownawell (Sparks, Md./Oldfields) and Lindsey Farrell (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) each converted free-position tallies to close the deficit to 4-3 with 14:12 to play in the opening half.
Lindsey Grabell stretched the lead back to two with 3:18 to play and Emily DiGirgio netted her second with just four seconds showing to make it a 6-3 game at the break.
Three free-position goals in the first 8:13 of the second half pushed the lead to 9-3 before Megan Kotelchuck (Crofton, Md./Elizabeth Seton) broke up the run with 18:54 remaining.
Abby Goldstein and Geiger traded goals less than a minute apart to make it a 10-5 game with 15:17 showing.
Kaci McNeave found the back of the net with 9:05 before Brownawell netted her second with just 27 second left to set the final margin.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Muhlenberg on Friday. Game time is 6 p.m.
