CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Washington (Md.) won four singles matches without dropping a game as part of a 9-0 win over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men's tennis action on Saturday.
Will Giles (LaVale, Md./Bishop Walsh) led the Green Terror (2-8, 0-3 CC), taking games in both singles and doubles play. He teamed with Tate Myers (East Berlin, Pa./Bermudian Springs) at second doubles, falling 8-1 to Justin Panepinto and Zachary Novick. Giles then dropped a 6-1, 6-1 decision to Chris Salisbuy at No. 1 singles.
Luke Weaver led the Shoremen (7-1, 1-0 CC), winning twice without dropping a game. He teamed with Jeremy Novick to win 8-0 at third doubles before taking No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Logan Lindenmann Cohen (Auckland, New Zealand/Eagle Hill School) was the other McDaniel player to win games in singles play, falling 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5 singles to August Meriot.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Swarthmore on Sunday. Match time is 1 p.m.
