Annmarie Duerr (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) led the Green Terror (1-1) with her first collegiate hat trick, adding one assist to her three goals.
Shannon Stull scored twice for the Gophers (0-3), who were outshot 47-7 in the game.
Olivia Geiger (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) opened the scoring, finishing off a roll just 1:19 into the game.
Back-to-back tallies from Megan Kotelchuck (Crofton, Md./Elizabeth Seton) nearly seven minutes apart stretched the lead to 3-0 with 16:23 to play in the opening half. Her first goal came off a feed from Duerr.
Emily Brownawell (Sparks, Md./Oldsfield) pushed the advantage to 4-0 with a solo run at the 15:31 mark.
Gabrielle Umstead broke up the shutout with 14:39 on the clock before Duerr responded 1 minute, 43 seconds later, finishing the first of three Brownawell assists.
Tori Arcilesi (Bel Air, Md./Harford Tech) netted her first collegiate goal on a free-position attempt with 2:14 remaining in the first half.
Stull converted an eight-meter shot of her own with 1:28 on the clock to make it a 6-2 game at the break.
Megan Quattrone (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle Area) and Stuff traded goals in the first 12:31 of the second half before Arcilesi hit Duerr for the freshman's first assist with 15:27 remaining.
A Brownawell-to-Geiger connection across the front of the goal pushed the lead to 9-3 less than a minute later.
Rachel Grosso finished a long run to trim the deficit back to five with 11:34 to play but Abby Phillips (New Freedom, Pa./North Harford [Md.]) bookended the game-closing 4-0 run over the final 7:46.
Phillips finished from Quattrone before Allison Farrell (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) and Duerr each connected on free-position attempts. Phillips then connected from Lindsey Farrell (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) in the final 30 seconds.
Duerr added three draw controls and four ground balls to her three goals. Geiger had three draw controls and six ground balls to go with four caused turnovers. Kelly Novak (Millington, N.J./Watchung Hills) and Morgan Collinson (Harwood, Md./Southern) added three caused turnovers each.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Montclair on Sunday. Game time is 1 p.m.
