Robbie Mays (Parkton, Md./Hereford) went the distance on the mound for the Green Terror (4-4), fanning five and allowing just three hits for the shutout.
Mike Abate had one of the three hits for the Pioneers (5-4-1), going 1-for-2 at the plate.
Antonio Rosanova (Laurel, Md./DeMatha) led off the third inning with a double.
With one run in, two outs and runners at second and third, Evan Finch (Laurel, Md./St. John's College) doubled home both runners to start a stretch of five straight batters to reach base.
Tyler O'Shea (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) delivered a two-run triple two batters later to key the seven-run frame.
Three straight singles and a bases-loaded hit by pitch to Nick Valori (Sewell, N.J./Washington Twp.) scored Michael Gallagher (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown West) for an 8-0 lead in the sixth.
With the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the eighth, pinch-hitter Chris Morris (Wynnewood, Pa./Harriton) drove a bases-clearing double to end the game early.
Gallagher led the offense with three hits while Rosanova, Eric Grantland (Pasadena, Md./Northeast), Valori, O'Shea and Mike Dunn (Lanham, Md./DeMatha) all had two hits.
The Green Terror returns to action in a doubleheader against St. Scholastica on Thursday. The first game begins at 9:30 a.m.
