CAMDEN, N.J. – McDaniel took a 2-1 lead after singles en route to a 6-3 victory over Rutgers-Camden in non-conference men's tennis action on Saturday.
Corey Glocker (Silver Spring, Md./Blake) led the Green Terror (1-2) with a two-win day in the spring opener.
Anthony Gendin and Ryan Christopher led the Scarlet Raptors (0-1) with an 8-4 win at second doubles.
Glocker teamed with Andrew Kendrick (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) to win first doubles 8-3 before Glocker added a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles.
Justin Arter (Waldorf, Md./North Point) and Nick Reed (Irving, Texas/Watkinson School) made it a 2-1 match after doubles, winning in the third slot by an 8-4 margin.
Will Giles (LaVale, Md./Bishop Walsh) and Aidan Finnerty (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove) each recorded 6-2, 6-2 wins in singles. Giles won at No. 1 while Finnerty was victorious at No. 5.
Logan Lindemann Cohen (Auckland, New Zealand/Eagle Hill School) rounded out the McDaniel winners, taking sixth singles, 6-0, 4-6, 6-4.
McDaniel returns to action at home against Catholic on Wednesday, Mar. 22. Match time is 3 p.m.
