LANCASTER, Pa. – Paul Van Nevel (Gaithersburg, Md./Poolesville) won twice to lead McDaniel at Franklin & Marshall in Centennial Conference (CC) men's swimming action on Friday.
Scoring:
- The Diplomats (3-3, 2-1 CC) defeated the Green Terror (3-6, 0-5 CC) by a score of 98-80.
Head of the Class: The following athletes won multiple events at the meet:
- Individually, Paul Van Nevel won the 200 backstroke (1:59.47). He was also part of the 200 free relay victory (1:35.24).
Striking Gold: The following athletes won a single event at the meet:
Precious Metal: The following athletes finished second or third in an event at the meet:
- Paul Van Nevel finished second in the 200 free (1:50.64).
- Grayson Blanchard (Germantown, Md./Seneca Valley) finished second in the 500 free (5:14.98).
- Sam Simacek was second in the 200 breaststroke (2:41.39).
- Andrew Gottfried finished third in the 400 IM (4:26.36).
- Brandon Loehmer finished third in the 200 free (1:52.94).
- Adam Halmy (Shenandoah, Texas/College Park) finished third in the 200 backstroke (1:59.69).
- Jeremy Simon (Melville, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills East) was third in the 200 breaststroke (2:55.41).
For the Foes: The following Franklin & Marshall athletes won events at the meet:
- Reed Perry won the 200 free (1:50.30).
- Eric Dietrich-Peterson won the 50 free (22.43).
- Eric Lang won the 400 IM (4:24.22).
- Danny Sanders won the 100 free (50.21).
- Reeves Connolly won the 500 free (5:11.54).
- Timothy Gould joined Lang, Dietrich-Peterson and Sanders to win the 200 medley relay (1:38.95).
