SWARTHMORE, Pa. – No. 24 Swarthmore swept all singles matches to cap a 9-0 win over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men's tennis action on Sunday.
Will Giles (LaVale, Md./Bishop Walsh) led the Green Terror (0-5, 0-3 CC), winning two games in the top slot at singles and doubles. Tate Myers (East Berlin, Md./Bermudian Springs) was the only other player to win a game in singles play, falling 6-1, 6-0 at sixth singles.
A day after snapping Johns Hopkins' 84-match conference winning streak, the Garnet (7-5, 3-0 CC) remained perfect in conference play behind four 6-0, 6-0 wins in singles play. Evan Han was the long double winner for Swarthmore, winning third doubles with Thomas Vernier 8-1 before taking fifth singles, 6-0, 6-0.
McDaniel returns to action at Dickinson on Wednesday. Match time is 4 p.m.
