FROSTBURG, Md. – Frostburg won two out of three doubles as part of a 6-3 victory over McDaniel in non-conference men's tennis action on Thursday.
Will Giles (LaVale, Md./Bishop Walsh) led the Green Terror (0-10) with a pair of victories. He teamed with Matthew Diers (Fort Salongo, N.Y./IMG Academy) for an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles before taking first singles, 6-3, 7-5.
Marcus Bowers led the Bobcats (2-12) with a pair of wins. He and Shasta Braithwaite teamed for an 8-6 win at second doubles. Bowers then notched a straight-set win at fourth singles, 6-1, 6-2.
Corey Glocker (Silver Spring, Md./Blake) added a 6-3, 7-5 victory for McDaniel at No. 2 singles.
Diers and Arun Pant went three sets at No. 3 singles. Diers took the first set 7-6 before Pant rallied to win the match, 6-2, 6-3.
Tate Myers (East Berlin, Pa./Bermudian Springs) and Joe Guididas split the first two sets at sixth singles with Myers winning the opening set 6-4 before Guididas took the second set, 6-2. Guididas prevailed in the match with a 12-10 win in the super-tiebreak third set.
The Green Terror returns to action at Ursinus on Saturday. Match time is 1 p.m.
