WESTMINSTER, Md. – Haverford did not drop a game at doubles en route to an 8-1 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men's tennis action on Saturday.
Matthew Diers (Fort Salongo, N.Y./IMG Academy) led the Green Terror (0-4, 0-2 CC) with a three-set win at third singles. Diers took the opening set 6-1 before Chris Nagele forced a third set super-tiebreaker with a 6-4 win. Diers won the deciding set, 10-5.
Luis Acaba and Jason Hirsch led the Fords (7-1, 2-0 CC) with two wins each. Acaba joined Josh Moskovitz for an 8-0 win at first singles before he won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Hirsch and Nagele won third doubles 8-0 before Hirsch took an 8-0 win at fifth singles.
McDaniel returns to action at Swarthmore on Sunday. Match time is 11 a.m.
