Windisch has two hits

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Johns Hopkins scored six runs in the second inning en route to a 15-4 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) baseball action on Friday.

Marty Windisch (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) led the 21st-ranked Green Terror (22-6, 3-5 CC) with two hits on the afternoon.

Daniel Albert had three hits and three RBIs to lead the Blue Jays (19-9-1, 6-2 CC), who completed the season sweep.

Johns Hopkins sent 10 batters to the plate in the top of the second inning, scoring six runs on six hits. Thomas Mee and Joe Conlon led off the frame with back-to-back singles.

A Conor Reynolds two-out single scored Mee for a 1-0 lead before Mike Smith walked to load the bases. Albert laced a two-run single before Raul Shah triple to the gap for a 5-0 lead. Mitch Weaver capped the inning with a single that plated Weaver.

A Smith sacrifice fly in the third and a Weaver two-run home run in the fourth pushed the lead to 9-0.

Windisch led off the home fifth with a triple before scoring on a Cameron Bahr (Southampton, N.J./Seneca) RBI groundout.

Back-to-back walks and a Chris Morris (Wynnewood, Pa./Harriton) double trimmed the margin to 9-3.

The Blue Jays responded with another six-run frame. Reynolds and Albert keyed the sixth inning, ripping doubles to right-center.

Nick Valori (Sewell, N.J./Washington Twp.) beat out a two-out infield single and allow Antonio Rosanova (Laurel, Md./DeMatha) to score and make it a 15-4 game in the bottom of the sixth.

Valori and Sean Sivo (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) also had two hits each.

The Green Terror returns to action in a doubleheader at Haverford on Saturday. The first game begins at 12:30 p.m.
