Barbeito tallies twice

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Gettysburg scored the first 15 goals en route to a 19-3 Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse victory over McDaniel on Wednesday.

Samantha Barbeito (Wolfsville, Md./Middletown) scored twice for the Green Terror (5-7, 2-3 CC), who was playing its second top-six team in five days.

Katie Landry led the sixth-ranked Bullets (11-1, 5-0 CC) with four goals and four assists.

Amanda Borucki finished a feed from Landry just 14 seconds into the game. The duo alternated goals, building a 4-0 lead with 24:03 to play in the opening half.

Landry then hit Katie Willis and Abby Baigelman to make it 6-0 with 20:14 showing.

Baigelman completed her hat trick with back-to-back goals, stretching the lead to 9-0 three minutes later.

Two straight Landry solo runs made it an 11-0 game en route to a 13-0 halftime advantage.

Maggie McClain scored her second of the game 4:38 into the second half before Emma Hill finished a free-position attempt 2:13 later.

Barbeito got McDaniel on the board, finishing from Allison Farrell (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) with 18:34 to play.

Barbeito then closed the margin to 16-2 with 10:07 to play before Danielle Barbeito (Wolfsville, Md./Middletown) capped the day off Farrell's second assist with 59 seconds remaining.

Gettysburg finished with a 30-12 advantage in shots.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Muhlenberg on Saturday. Game time is 4 p.m.
