Box Score BALTIMORE, Md. – Johns Hopkins scored a run in the bottom of the first and never trailed, defeating No. 21 McDaniel 2-1 in Centennial Conference (CC) baseball action on Tuesday.
Cameron Bahr (Southampton, N.J./Seneca) led the Green Terror (22-5, 3-4 CC) with a hit and scored the squad's lone run.
Raul Shah led the Blue Jays (18-9-1, 5-2 CC) as one of three players with two hits, driving in both runs for the hosts.
Conor Reynoldds led off the bottom of the first with a single before moving to second and third on a pair of groundouts.
Shah dropped a two-out single into right field to score the leadoff hitter with the game's first run.
Reynolds drew a one-out walk in the fifth before a stolen base and walk put runners at first and second.
After a flyout, Shan singled up the middle to score Reynolds for a 2-0 lead.
Bahr drew a one-out walk in the top of the seventh before an Eric Grantland (Pasadena, Md./Northeast) single run runners at the corners with two outs.
An error allowed Bahr to score and cut the deficit in half but Jacob Enterlin got a groundball to preserve the lead.
Enterlin struck out six and allowed just the one unearned run in seven innings to improve to 5-0. Alex Ross worked the final two innings for his fourth save.
Marty Windisch (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) fanned six in six innings for the Green Terror, who were limited to a season-low four hits on the day.
McDaniel concludes the home-and-home series with Johns Hopkins at home on Friday. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
