Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C. – McDaniel scored four runs in the eighth inning to break open a 7-0 win at Gallaudet in non-conference baseball action on Monday.
Antonio Rosanova (Laurel, Md./DeMatha) went 3-for-5 with three RBIs to lead the Green Terror (6-0), who matched the best six-game start to a season in program history.
Dylan Hayes went 2-for-3 to lead the Bison (3-10), who were limited to six hits in the shutout.
Four straight free passes led to a 1-0 lead for McDaniel in the third innings. Sean Sivo (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) and Marty Windisch (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) drew walks before Cameron Bahr (Southampton, N.J./Seneca) was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Tyler Gilbert (York, Pa./Glen Burnie [Md.]) drew a full-count walk to force in the first run of the game.
The Green Terror tacked on an unearned run in the fifth. Sivo was hit by a pitch before taking second on a passed ball and third on a Windisch bunt single. A Bahr sacrifice fly plated the lead off hitter.
Rosanova singled home Kaleb Reitz (Halifax, Pa./Halifax) for a 3-0 lead with two outs in the sixth.
A pair of walks and Rosanova two-run single pushed the lead to 5-0 in the eighth. A throwing error on a stolen base allowed Tyler O'Shea (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) to score before Windisch drove in Rosanova with the fourth run of the frame.
Windisch, who contributed two hits to the offense, went seven innings on the mound. He scattered five hits and struck out five to improve to 2-0 the year.
The Green Terror opens its eight-game trip to the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational in Winter Haven, Fla., with a doubleheader against Stockton on Saturday. The first game begins at 3 p.m.
