WESTMINSTER, Md. – Washington (Md.) swept all six singles matches in straight sets to top McDaniel 9-0 in the Centennial Conference (CC) men's tennis opener for both teams on Saturday.
Will Giles (LaVale, Md./Bishop Walsh) led the Green Terror (0-3, 0-1 CC), winning six games. He teamed with Corey Glocker (Silver Spring, Md./Blake) at No. 1 doubles, falling 8-4 to Ryland Byrd and Justin Panepinto.
Jeremy Novick led the Shoremen (2-6, 1-0 CC) with a 2-0 day, not dropping a game. He partnered with Luke Weaver for an 8-0 win at second doubles before winning fourth singles 6-0, 6-0.
Weaver and Zachary Novick also won their singles matches 6-0, 6-0 at fifth and sixth, respectively.
McDaniel returns to action at Frostburg on Thursday. Match time is 3:30 p.m.
