Box Score AUBURNDALE, Fla. – McDaniel plated multiple runs in three innings to defeat Ripon 11-1 in eight innings at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational in baseball action on Friday.
Marty Windisch (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) recorded two hits to tie the career record for hits with 167. He also pitched 7 1/3 innings to pick up the win on the mound for the Green Terror (13-1), who capped its Florida trip with a 7-1 record.
Isiah Ramos led the Red Hawks (2-8) with a home run.
Kaleb Reitz (Halifax, Pa./Halifax), Tyler O'Shea (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) and Antonio Rosanova (Laurel, Md./DeMatha) put together consecutive singles to lead off the second inning and key a 2-0 lead.
Ramos' one-out roundtripper cut the deficit to 2-1 in the third before Rosanova and Sean Sivo (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) each singled to lead off the fourth before both scored for a 4-1 lead.
Reitz drew a leadoff walk in the fifth before three straight singles and a Windisch double, which tied the career hit mark, stretched the lead to 8-1.
McDaniel scored a single run in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings to record a run-rule victory.
The Green Terror returns to action in the home opener against Penn State-Mont Alto on Tuesday. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
