AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Gwynedd Mercy put together five multiple-run innings to top McDaniel 13-2 in seven innings at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational in baseball action on Sunday.

Kaleb Reitz (Halifax, Pa./Halifax) led the Green Terror (8-1) with a 2-for-3 day at the plate.

Christopher Hens led the Griffins (6-4) with a 3-for-3 performance, adding four RBIs and two runs scored.

A one-out hit batter coupled with singles from Tommy Nardini and Chris Carmolingo around a Shaughn Wright sacrifice fly staked Gwynedd Mercy to a 2-0 lead.

A Tyler O'Shea (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) single and Sean Sivo (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) double cut the deficit in half in the top of the third inning.

The Griffins, however, used a two-run double from Hens to push the lead to 4-1 in the bottom of the frame.

A David Blount two-run, two-out home run capped a three-run fourth, making it a 7-1 lead.

A Sivo RBI double played Reitz, who led off the inning with a single, in the fifth.

Gwynedd Mercy added three runs in the fifth and four in the sixth to end the game after seven innings.

McDaniel returns to action against FDU-Florham on Monday. Game time is 1:30 p.m.
