FREDERICK, Md. – Kelly Lewis (Montgomery Village, Md./Watkins Mill) was one of four double winners, leading McDaniel at Hood in women's swimming action on Saturday.
Scoring:
- The Green Terror (3-3) defeated the Blazers (1-9) by a score of 127-40.
Head of the Class: The following athletes won multiple events at the meet:
- Sara Hegna (Brielle, N.J./Manasquan), Kelly Lewis, Samantha Smith (Bangkok, Thailand/International School of Bangkok) and Syd Knadler (Crowley Lake, Calif./Mammoth) won the 400 medley relay (4:04.23).
- Individually, Knadler won the 50 free (24.46).
- Individually, Smith won the 200 butterfly (2:28.40).
- Individually, Hegna won the 200 backstroke (2:12.10).
- Individually, Lewis won the 200 breaststroke (2:31.95).
Striking Gold: The following athletes won a single event at the meet:
- Melissa Fry (St. Mary's, Ga./Camden County) won the 1000 free (12:41.21).
- Emma Perdue (Grasonville, Md./Annapolis Area Christian) won the 200 IM (2:23.79).
- Joanna Wattenberg (Monrovia, Md./Urbana) won the 500 free (5:35.33).
Precious Metal: The following athletes finished second or third in an event at the meet:
- Cara Dube (Milford, Conn./Joseph A. Foran) finished second in the 200 freestyle (2:06.86) and 200 backstroke (2:17.96).
- Kelly Lewis finished second in the 50 free (25.63 seconds).
- Juliann Rossi (Marriottsville, Md./McDonogh) finished second in the 100 free (58.83 seconds).
- Becca Sykes (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) finished second in the 500 freestyle (5:37.87). She was also third in the 200 freestyle (2:10.52).
- Melissa Fry finished third in the 100 free (1:06.57).
- Carly Deickman (Bishopville, Md./Stephen Decatur) finished third in the 200 breaststroke 2:38.52).
