WESTMINSTER, Md. – Sara Hegna (Brielle, N.J./Manasquan) won twice to lead McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's swimming action at home against Gettysburg on Wednesday.
Scoring:
- The Bullets (3-0, 3-0 CC) defeated the Green Terror (0-3, 0-3 CC) by a score of 55-31.
Head of the Class: The following athletes won multiple events at the meet:
- Sara Hegna won the 200 freestyle (2:00.64) and 100 backstroke (1:01.54).
Striking Gold: The following athletes won a single event at the meet:
- Cara Dube (Milford, Conn./Joseph A. Foran), Kelly Lewis (Montgomery Village, Md./Watkins Mill), Samantha Smith (Bangkok, Thailand/International School of Bangkok) and Syd Knadler (Crowley Lake, Calif./Mammoth) won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:52.58.

- Kate Crilly won the 50 free (25.42 seconds).
- Kaitlin Idank won the 400 IM (4:59.18).

- Johnna Hock won the 100 freestyle (56.32 seconds).
- Nicolette Gibbons won the 500 freestyle (5:29.85).
- Caroline Moyer won the 100 breaststroke (1:08.39).
- Hock and Crilly each added a second win, teaming with Carlin Baker and Lindsay Hayden to win the 200 free relay (1:41.87).
Next Up: The Green Terror returns to action at St. Mary's (Md.) in a trimatch with Ferrum on Saturday. Meet time is 1 p.m.
