WESTMINSTER, Md. – Paul Van Nevel (Gaithersburg, Md./Poolesville) won twice to lead McDaniel at home against Gettysburg in Centennial Conference (CC) men's swimming action on Wednesday.
Scoring:
- The Bullets (2-0, 2-0 CC) defeated the Green Terror (0-3, 0-3 CC) by a score of 53-32.
Head of the Class: The following athletes won multiple events at the meet:
- Justin Allen (Ashburn, Va./Broad Run) won two times. He also touched first in the 100 breaststroke (58.29 seconds) and was part of the winning 200 free relay (1:33.21).
- Paul Van Nevel also won twice. In addition to joining Allen on the relay, he won the 100 butterfly (54.90 seconds).
Striking Gold: The following athletes won a single event at the meet:
Precious Metal: The following athletes finished second or third in an event at the meet:
- Paul Van Nevel finished second in the 200 freestyle (1:50.35).
- Andrew Gottfried placed second in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.17).
- Grayson Blanchard finished third in the 50 free (22.63 seconds) and 100 free (50.15).
- Owen Long (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) finished third in the 100 backstroke (1:05.35).
- Brandon Loehmer finished third in the 500 free (5:14.48).
Record Setting Performance: The following athletes established a record at the meet:
- Justin Allen's time of 58.29 seconds in the 100 breaststroke is a new Harlow Pool record.

For the Foes: The following Ursinus athletes won events at the meet:
- Jeff Ragatz, Adam Dias, Francisco Nieves and Ogden Leyens won the 200 medley relay (1:41.12).
- Nieves also won the 50 free (22.28 seconds).
- Leyens also won the 100 free (47.60 seconds).
- Ragatz also won the 100 backstroke (54.50 seconds).
- Tyler Dougherty won the 200 free (1:47.99).
- Ernest Ribera won the 500 free (4:59.81).
