SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Syd Knadler (Crowley Lake, Calif./Mammoth) won three times to lead McDaniel in the Centennial Conference (CC) women's swimming opener at Swarthmore on Saturday.
Scoring:
- The Garnet (1-0, 1-0 CC) defeated the Green Terror (0-1, 0-1 CC) by a score of 142.5-62.5.
Head of the Class: The following athletes won multiple events at the meet:
- Syd Knadler won three times. She was part of the 200 medley relay that won with a time of 1:52.20. She touched first in the 50 free (24.90 seconds) and 100 free (54.62) as well.
Striking Gold: The following athletes won a single event at the meet:

- Joanna Wattenberg (Monrovia, Md./Urbana) finished second in the 200 free (2:06.57).
- Becca Sykes (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) finished third in the 1000 free (11:42.41) and 500 free (5:41.51).
- Cara Dube (Milford, Conn./Joseph A. Foran) finished third in the 200 free (2:07.20).
- Sara Hegna finished third in the 100 back (1:02.38).
- Kelly Lewis finished third in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.63).
