WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel won the first seven of the first eight events to clinch a 52-33 victory over Elizabethtown in non-conference men's swimming action on Wednesday.
Justin Allen (Ashburn, Va./Broad Run) led the Green Terror (1-6) with three wins on the night. He joined Paul Van Nevel (Gaithersburg, Md./Poolesville), Adam Halmy (Shenandoah, Texas/College Park) and Brad Brooks (Newark, Del./Charter School of Wilmington) to open the meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay, combining for a program-record time of 1:38.48. Allen also touched first in the 200 IM (2:03.93) and 100 free (50.42 seconds).
Nick Petrella led the Blue Jays (3-6) with two wins, including notching the only victory in the first eight events for the visitors. He touched first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:10.52.
Brooks added a second victory for McDaniel in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:00.01.
Brandon Loehmer (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) was also a double winner, grabbing victories in the 200 free (1:55.33) and 500 free (5:18.53).
Owen Long (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) rounded out the Green Terror winners, touching first in the 50 free with a mark of 22.91 seconds.
Halmy also posted the fastest time of the night in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:31.13, swimming as exhibition.
Brooks, Van Nevel and Long joined Logan Linden (Ocean View, Del./Indian River) to record the best time of the night in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:32.78.
Van Nevel added a second-place showing in the 50 free (23.60 seconds) while Halmy was second in the 200 IM (2:08.61).
Michael Brant (Wilmington, Del./Cab Calloway School of the Arts) placed second in the 200 butterfly (2:08.00) and Brian Austin (Turlock, Calif./J.H. Pitman) touched second in the 500 free (5:30.78).
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Franklin & Marshall on Friday. Meet time is 5 p.m.
