WASHINGTON, D.C. – Catholic won three matches by default as part of a 5-4 victory over McDaniel in non-conference men's tennis action on Thursday.
Will Giles (LaVale, Md./Bishop Walsh) led the Green Terror (0-1) with two wins on the day. Giles and Corey Glocker (Silver Spring, Md./Blake) teamed for a 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles. Giles added a 7-5, 6-4 victory over first singles.
Ted Tiu won twice for the Cardinals (2-0), partnering with Robin Wu for a 9-7 victory at second doubles before winning 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 at third singles.
Glocker added a win by retirement at second singles while Matthew Dier rounded out the McDaniel winners, taking fourth singles, 6-1, 6-3.
The Green Terror returns to action at ITA Small College Regionals at Mary Washington on Saturday, Oct. 3.
