WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel will host the semifinals and championship of the 2015 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Southeast Region baseball championship tournament on Saturday and Sunday at Preston Field in Westminster, Md.
The top-seeded Green Terror (18-14) will take on the winner of Wednesday's first-round game between fourth-seeded Arcadia (19-14-1) and fifth-seeded Centenary (17-14). Game time is set for 12 p.m. on Saturday. Second-seeded Widener (23-18), which also received a bye, will play in Saturday's second semifinal against the winner of Wednesday's other first-round matchup between Stevenson (20-19-2) and sixth-seeded Stockton (15-15), beginning at 4 p.m.
The semifinal winners will meet in Sunday's championship game at 2 p.m.
McDaniel is making its third ECAC tournament in four seasons.
McDaniel enters the tournament with a .316 team batting average. Seven of the Green Terror's starting nine are hitting .300 or better. Marty Windisch (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) is hitting a team-best .383 with a team-best and single-season program-record 54 hits. He has nine doubles, three triples and a home run among his knocks. Cameron Bahr (Southampton, N.J./Seneca) is second on the squad with a .365 average.
Zach Kronick (Schenectady, N.Y./Guilderland) leads the Green Terror starters on the mound with a 3.66 earned-run average. He is 3-1 with 52 strikeouts in 51 2/3 innings.
