Box Score WESTMINSTER Md. – Gettysburg raced out to an 12-1 lead en route to a 20-8 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse action on Wednesday.
Danielle Entrot (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) led the Green Terror (8-4, 3-2 CC) with three goals and an assist.
Bridget Kenny paced the eighth-ranked Bullets (10-2, 4-1 CC) with six goals, including five straight in a 4-minute, 56-second span to open up a 7-0 lead just 7:13 into the game.
After Mandy Buell tallied the first of her four markers for a 1-0 lead just 39 seconds into the game, Amanda Borucki doubled the advantage 31 seconds later with a free-position tally.
Kenny then reeled off five straight, including two off passes from Abby Baigelman.
Sam Barbeito (Wolfsville, Md./Middletown) broke up the shutout, finishing a feed from Abby Phillips (Pylesville, Md./North Harford) in front of the net with 21:44 showing.
Buell started another five-goal run that including Samantha Aiello's two goals for a 12-1 lead midway through the opening half.
Entrot and Olivia Geiger (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) closed the deficit to 12-3 with 6:58 to play before Buell and Barbeito traded goals.
A Buell unassisted tally and a Katie Willis goal a the horn stretched the lead to 15-4 at the break.
Willis made it a 15-4 game 1:38 into the second half before Julia Jacobs (Stevensville, Md./St. Mary's) scored her two goals 1:46 apart to close the margin to 16-6 with 25:01 to play.
Baigelman and Kenny pushed the lead back to 12 with 21:12 to play before Entrot scored two of the final four goals to set the final margin with 3:16 to play.
Gettysburg finished the game with a 29-18 advantage in shots and a 20-9 advantage in draw controls.
The Green Terror returns to action at Muhlenberg on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
