Quinn tallies three

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Washington (Md.) outscored McDaniel 12-5 in the second half to break open an 8-6 halftime edge and notch a 20-11 Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse victory on Saturday.

Maggie Quinn (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) tallied three goals and four draw controls to lead the Green Terror (9-7, 4-5 CC), who will now have to wait until Monday, May 4 to see if its season continues with an ECAC bid.

Carley Kendall netted seven goals to lead the Shorewomen (11-4, 7-2 CC), who will be the No. 3 seed in next weekend's conference tournament.

Sam Barbeito (Wolfsville, Md./Middletown) answered goals from Emily Hubley and Caroline Lovett to keep it a tie game 7:30 into the contest before Alli Dudley finished a solo run with 20:45 to play to start a four-goal Washington run.

Kendall scored the next three goals in a 4-minute, 49-second span to stretch the lead to 6-2 with 14:14 showing.

Goals from Danielle Entrot (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) and Quinn trimmed the margin to 6-4 before Lovett and Cara Pascarella sandwiched goals from Quinn and Julia Jacobs (Stevensville, Md./St. Mary's) to keep it a two-goal game at the break.

Catherine Stanley converted a free-position tally 54 seconds into the second half and Kendall finished a Dudley pass to make it a 10-6 game with 28:11 remaining.

Unassisted goals from Bridget Bopst (Westminster, Md./South Carroll) and Entrot trimmed the deficit back to two with 25:09 on the clock before the Shorewomen tallied seven of the game's next eight goals to take a 17-9 lead just nine minutes later.

Olivia Geiger (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) momentarily broke up the run but three more Washington goals stretched the lead to 10 with 10:25 to play.

Entrot capped the scoring to complete her hat trick with 1:11 showing.

Barbeito and Geiger also had four draw controls.
