GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Gettysburg won two of the three doubles matches before splitting singles play to notch a 5-4 win over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men's tennis action on Friday.
Ryan Salomon (Bethesda, Md./The Siena) led the Green Terror (3-11, 0-8 CC) with a 6-4, 6-2 win at fifth singles.
Dave Musser paced the Bullets (4-9, 1-8 CC) with two wins, including the match-clinching victory at No. 1 singles. He teamed with Wesley Craft for an 8-2 victory at first doubles before notching a 6-4, 7-5 victory at No. 1 singles.
Daniel Xinis (Owings, Md./Northern) and Philip Jorgensen (Bowie, Md./Cahal Academy) tallied an 8-5 win at second doubles to notch McDaniel's lone win in doubles play.
Satchel McCarthy (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth) added a 6-3, 6-4 victory at second singles while Will Giles (LaVale, Md./Bishop Walsh) won at sixth singles, 6-3, 6-2.
The Green Terror concludes the season at Johns Hopkins on Sunday.
