WESTMINSTER, Md. – Ursinus won all three doubles matches en route to an 8-1 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men's tennis action on Saturday.
Will Giles (LaVale, Md./Bishop Walsh) led the Green Terror (3-9, 0-6 CC) with a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.
Caleb Kramer led the Bears (10-8, 2-5 CC) with two wins on the day, including a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles. He also partnered with Tyler Arsenault for an 8-6 win at first doubles.
Arsenault needed three sets to top Satchel McCarthy (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth) at No. 2 singles. Arsenault took the opening set 6-2 before McCarty won the second set, 6-2. Arsenault prevailed in the super-tiebreaker, 10-3.
Peter Shields and Daniel Xinis (Owings, Md./Northern) also had a three-set match. Xinis took the first set at fourth singles 7-6 before Shields rallied to win the second set 6-3 and edged Xinis 11-9 in the super-tiebreaker third set.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Dickinson on Tuesday. Match time is 4 p.m.
