Box Score CARLISLE, Pa. – McDaniel plated unearned runs in the first and third inning to jump out to an early lead and defeat Dickinson 4-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) baseball action on Friday.
Andrew Hofmeister (Baltimore, Md./McDonogh) and David Pisauro (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) combined to throw a four-hit shutout for the Green Terror (12-12, 5-7 CC) – the team's first shutout of the season. Hofmeister, making his first collegiate start, threw the first five innings, allowing two hits and striking out one. Pisauro pitched the final four innings in relief to pick up the save, allowing two hits and fanning four.
Their battery mate Cameron Bahr (Southampton, N.J./Seneca) led the way offensive with a 3-for-4 day at the plate.
Harley Moore led the Red Devils (10-17-1, 4-7-1 CC), scattering seven hits and striking out nine in seven innings. He did not allow an earned run.
Sean Sivo (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) reached on an error to lead off the game before stealing both second and third and scoring on a Marty Windisch (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) sacrifice fly for a 1-0 lead.
Antonio Rosanova (Laurel, Md./DeMatha) singled to lead off the third inning before moving to second on a failed pickoff attempt and taking third on a Sivo sacrifice.
Windisch followed with an RBI groundout to plate Rosanova and double the lead.
Brandon Hayward (Salisbury, Md./J.M. Bennett) singled to lead off the ninth inning before moving to second on a groundout.
A Rosanova walk and groundout put runners at second and third with two outs. Windisch followed with a two-run single to drive in his third and fourth runs of the game and tack on a pair of insurance runs.
Pisauro pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the ninth to complete the shutout.
Nick Valori (Sewell, N.J./Washington Twp.) added two hits for McDaniel.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Swarthmore on Saturday. The first game of the doubleheader begins at 12:30 p.m.
