Box Score CARLISLE, Pa. – Dickinson scored seven straight goals to break open a 6-4 game en route to a 14-6 Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse victory over McDaniel on Wednesday.
Danielle Entrot (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) led the Green Terror (8-6, 3-4 CC) with three goals.
Carly O'Brien paced the Red Devils (6-6, 2-4 CC) with five goals and three assists, including three points during the game-clinching run.
Dickinson scored the game's first three goals and never trailed but it wasn't until an 18-minute, 28-second stretch that spanned both halves that the hosts broke the game open.
O'Brien opened the scoring with a solo run 3:20 into the game before finding Jennifer Morrissey 49 seconds later for a 2-0 lead.
Elizabeth Sitko pushed the lead to 3-0 before Julia Jacobs (Stevensville, Md./St. Mary's) broke up the opening run with 22:51 showing.
Morrissey finished from O'Brien to reestablish the three-goal lead before Entrot and Abby Phillips (Pylesville, Md./North Harford) found the back of the next 5:28 apart to close the deficit to 4-3.
Solo runs from O'Brien and Sophie Waine 25 seconds apart made it a 6-3 game with 8:07 to play in the first half before Sam Barbeito (Wolfsville, Md./Middletown) once again closed the deficit to two with 6:45 on the clock.
O'Brien finished a solo urn and then hit Maddy Siebold to stretch the advantage to 8-4 at the break.
Siebold and Sitko each converted unassisted tallies in the first 1:57 of the second half before O'Brien put home a free-position tally nearly two minutes later for an 11-4 edge.
Carey finished a solo run and then hit Siebold for a 13-4 lead with 16:24 to play.
Barbeito found Entrot to snap the scoring drought six minutes later before O'Brien and Entrot traded tallies in the final 7:23.
Dickinson finished with a 31-16 advantage in shots and 15-7 edge in draw controls.
The Green Terror returns to action at Ursinus on Saturday. Game time is 3 p.m.
