Box Score FREDERICK, Md. – McDaniel rapped out 17 hits as part of a 10-4 win over Hood in non-conference baseball action on Monday.
Cameron Bahr (Southampton, N.J./Seneca) led the Green Terror (8-6) with a 3-for-4 day at the plate, adding three RBIs and two runs scored.
Eight different players recorded hits for the Blazers (3-13), who got a 1-for-2 day from Drake Friend.
Sean Sivo (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) drew a walk to lead off the game before moving to second on a single and stealing third. A Bahr infield single plated Sivo with two outs for a 1-0 lead.
Sivo led off the third with an infield hit – his first of four knocks on the day – before an error put runners at the corners. A double steal stretched the lead to 2-0 before Bahr drove in Nick Valori (Sewell, N.J./Washington Twp.) with a single.
Kasey Nelson (Denton, Md./St. Michael's) followed with a double to make it a 4-0 game.
A Chris Shriver one-out double and Friend RBI single cut the deficit to 4-1 in the bottom of the fifth and broke up a Michael Casper (Bridgeton, N.J./Cumberland Regional) no-hitter.
The teams traded runs in the sixth before Marty Windisch (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) led off the seventh with a triple.
A Tyler Gilbert (Severn, Md./Glen Burnie) walk and Bahr RBI single made it a 6-2 game.
Mitchell McVerry (Westminster, Md./Westminster) roped a bases-loaded, two-out single to left to score two runs and stretch the advantage to 8-2.
A Windisch two-run double in the top of the top of the eight gave McDaniel 10 runs for the sixth time this season before Hood tacked on a single run in each the eighth and ninth innings for the final margin.
Valori, Windisch, McVerry and Antonio Rosanova (Laurel, Md./DeMatha) all added two hits.
The Green Terror returns to action at Washington (Md.) on Tuesday. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
