Box Score WINCHESTER, Va. – McDaniel scored nine straight goals in the first half to turn an early 3-0 deficit into a 16-9 victory over Shenandoah in non-conference women's lacrosse action on Saturday.
Danielle Entrot (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) led the Green Terror (6-2) with five goals and three assists.
Liz Bereit paced the Hornets (5-3) with four goals, including two in the game's first 4:14.
Two Bereit free-position goals around a Miranda Rudacille solo marker staked Shenandoah to the early advantage before Entrot finished a pass from Sam Barbeito (Wolfsville, Md./Middletown) to get McDaniel on the board with 20:17 showing in the first half.
A Barbeito free-position goal and back-to-back tallies from Maggie Quinn (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) gave the Green Terror a 4-3 edge just three minutes later.
Two more Barbeito assists as well as a goal from the junior pushed the lead to 8-3 before Abby Phillips (Pylesville, Md./North Harford) converted while her squad was a player short with 8:12 to play.
Bereit converted her third free-position goal of the first half with 4:44 on the clock to close the hosts within 9-4.
Entrot, Bridget Bopst (Westminster, Md./South Carroll) and Quinn extended the lead to 12-5 just over nine minutes into the second half before the Hornets tallied three of the next four goals to close with 13-8 with 12:54 to play.
Julia Jacobs (Stevensville, Md./St. Mary's) finished an Entrot pass and then Entrot hit the back of the net twice to seal the win.
Quinn added six draw controls and three goals for McDaniel while Jacobs had three caused turnovers.
McDaniel returns to action at home against Haverford on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
