Box Score FROSTBURG, Md. – McDaniel scored nine of the game's final 10 goals to turn an 8-7 edge early in the second half to a 17-8 victory at Frostburg in non-conference women's lacrosse action on Saturday.
Maggie Quinn (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) and Sam Barbeito (Wolfsville, Md./Middletown) led the attack with three goals each for the Green Terror (2-0) while Lily Galzerano (Newburyport, Mass./Newburyport) backstopped a second straight solid defensive effort with 17 saves.
Malory Brunett and Emani Byrd led the Bobcats (0-2) with a pair of goals each.
Trailing 2-1 after Charlotte Hines and Byrd scored on either side of an Allison Farrell (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) marker, Mallory Michel (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) evened the game with a free-position goal at the 19:36 mark.
Barbeito put McDaniel in front 3-2 with a free-position tally of her own nearly eight minutes later.
Byrd evened the game once again with 11:25 showing before Emily Brownawell (Sparks, Md./Oldfields) finished a solo run to spark a three-goal burst in a 5-miunte, 4-second span.
Brunett closed the deficit to 6-4 before Danielle Entrot (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) found the back of the net then hit Barbeito to push the lead to 8-4 with 49 ticks remaining.
Brunett scored just before the end of the first half and then Megan Hart and Courtney Ridenour scored in the first 2:17 of the second half to close the deficit to 8-7.
Entrot found Quinn and Barbeito 2:51 apart before Bridget Bopst (Westminster, Md./South Carroll) hit an eight-meter attempt and Quinn finished from Bopst to make it a 12-7 game with 21:32 remaining.
Molly Hart momentarily halted the run before Bopst hit Olivia Geiger (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) to spark a five-goal run to the end in which five different Green Terror players scored.
Entrot finished with two goals and three assists while Bopst added two and two. The duo added four draw controls each.
McDaniel is scheduled to play at St. Mary's (Md.) on Tuesday. However, due to field conditions, game day or location could change. Game time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
