CHESTERTOWN, Md. – McDaniel scored in the 76th minute to top Washington (Md.) 1-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer action on Saturday.

Kirsten Gibson (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) scored the lone goal for the 25th-ranked Green Terror (15-1-2, 7-1-2 CC), who enters next weekend's CC tournament as the No. 3 seed. McDaniel will face Johns Hopkins in a rematch of a double-overtime game earlier in the week in the semifinals. The game will take place at top-seeded Swarthmore at a time to be determined on Monday's conference call.

Melissa Barry led the Shorewomen (3-11-2, 0-9-1 CC) with six saves.

Gibson collected a loose ball, spun and put it in the left corner of the net to break a scoreless deadlock with 14:36 to play.

The Green Terror finished with a 23-5 advantage in shots and 8-1 edge in corner kicks.
