OPENING KICKOFF: Today's Centennial Conference (CC) game marks the 70th meeting between McDaniel (0-6, 0-5 CC) and Dickinson (2-4, 2-3 CC) in a series that dates back to 1904. The Green Terror leads the all-time series 36-33-1 but the Red Devils have won nine of the last 10 meetings, including by a 33-28 margin last season in Westminster. The lone McDaniel win during the stretch was by a 20-13 margin in 2008.

WHEN LAST WE MET: Dickinson built a 13-point lead in the second half then held on to defeat McDaniel 33-28 last season. Nick O'Melia led the Green Terror on offense with six catches for 105 yards that included a pair of touchdowns. Matty Callahan (Germantown, Md./Northwest) threw for 281 yards, completing 23 of 41 passes with three touchdowns. Chris Soulas and Cedric Madden did the lions' share of the work for the Red Devils, combining for 280 of the team's 310 yards rushing. Soulas had 158 yards on 19 carries with three touchdowns while Madden had 122 yards on 19 carries with one score.

LAST TIME OUT: Franklin & Marshall built a 23-7 halftime lead before holding on for a 30-28 victory over McDaniel last Saturday. Will Koester (Purcellville, Va./Woodgrove) completed 22 of 32 passes for 267 yards in his first start for the Green Terror, throwing three touchdowns. Mike Oliveto (Robesonia, Pa./Conrad Weiser) did the yeoman's work, catching eight passes for 131 yards, including a career-long 75 yard touchdown reception. Andrew DeStefano caught eight passes to lead the Diplomats, amassing 130 yards.

WITH HONORS: Will Koester and Andy Ullmann (Toms River, N.J./Monsignor Donovan) were named to their respective CC Weekly Honor Rolls two weeks ago. Koester was named to the offensive list after catching throwing for 267 yards in his first collegiate start, completing 22 of 32 passes with three touchdowns. Ullmann earned a spot on the defensive ledger after making a career-best 11 tackles that included a pair of sacks and a pass breakup.

LEADING THE WAY: Riley Johnson (Round Hill, Va./Woodgrove), Brandon Jones (Middle River, Md./Eastern Tech), Mike Oliveto and Matt Quattrone (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle Area) will captain the squad in 2015. This is the third straight year Oliveto has served as a captain while Jones is a two-time captain.

SACK LUNCH: Through six games this season, McDaniel leads the conference with 23 sacks. The Green Terror defense got to the quarterback another four times last week and has three or more sacks in each game this season. Fourteen different players have been a part of at least one sack so far this season. Raymond Doh (Silver Spring, Md./Blake) leads the conference with 4.5 sacks this season while Andy Ullman is tied for second with 4.0 sacks. Garvin Brooms (Olney, Md./Good Counsel) has 3.0 sacks in five games.

ULL-OUT: Andy Ullmann led the defense last week against Franklin & Marshall. The junior tackle recorded a career-best 11 tackles that included six solo stops. He also recorded a pair of sacks to give him four on the season. Ullmann was one of three Green Terror defenders last week to record double-digit tackles. Freshman Garvin Brooms established a career best with 11 tackles while Garrett Diehl (Warrenton, Va./Fauquier) made 10 stops in his return to the lineup.

WILL, I AM: Will Koester made his first collegiate start under center last week. The sophomore quarterback finished the day 22-for-32 for 267 yards. He also threw three touchdowns without an interception. He was also not sacked. Koester got off to a shaky start, going 1-for-6 on his first three possessions before hitting Mike Oliveto and Sean Montgomery (Bethesda, Md./Walter Johnson) on consecutive passes to jumpstart McDaniel's first scoring drive of the day. Koester went 21-for-26 on the final eight drives of the game, including 14-for-18 for 205 yards in the second half.

WANNA BE LIKE MIKE: Mike Oliveto notched his second straight 100-yard receiving game last week, catching eight passes for 131 yards. Among his catches was a 75-yard touchdown grab that was the Green Terror's longest play of the year. The fifth-year wideout enters today's game needing just 193 yards to become the fifth player in program history to record 2,000 yards receiving for his career. With 144 career receptions, he is now just 12 shy of Matt Cahill's program record.

YOU ALWAYS REMEMBER YOUR FIRST: When Will Koester found Taylor Wagner (Dunkirk, Md./Northern) for a one-yard touchdown on a flair pass, it marked a pair of firsts. It was the first collegiate touchdown pass for the sophomore quarterback. It was also the first collegiate touchdown for Wagner, who is also a sophomore. Two more sophomores had firsts later in the game. Perry Stefanelli (Rockville, Md./Good Counsel) found the endzone for the first time, scoring on a four-yard run in the third quarter. Marquise Findley-Smith (Baltimore, Md./Atholton) also made his first touchdown grab, hauling in a 37-yard touchdown reception with 1:03 to play to make it a one-score game.

GOING LONG: Two of the Green Terror's four scoring drives last Saturday last 13 or more plays and ate up more than five minutes of clock each. They were the two longest possessions by time by the McDaniel offense this season. The offense had just nine double-digit play drives through the first five games and only four lasted longer than four minutes. Those nine drives netted two touchdowns and three field goals in the first half of the season.

TERROR TIDBITS: Brandon Jones recorded his first collegiate sack last Saturday…  Spencer Wiersburg (Salisbury, Md./J.M. Bennett) has made all five of his field-goal attempts this season – the only Division III kicker who is still perfect on the season. He is now 9-for-9 in his collegiate career after going 4-for-4 as a freshman… The Green Terror scored 14 points in the third quarter on Saturday. McDaniel had just two points in the third quarter through the first five games of the season… The Green Terror is 7-for-17 on fourth downs… Through six games, 16 different McDaniel players have recorded a reception… Starting outside linebacker Matt Quattrone's father Joel is the defensive coordinator for Dickinson.

COACHES' CORNER: Mike Hoyt is in his fourth season at the helm of the Green Terror with an overall record of 3-33, picking up his first win on Sept. 14, 2013 – a 21-14 victory over Moravian. In 2015, he serves as defensive coordinator for the first time at McDaniel. He spent the previous eight seasons as the defensive coordinator, culminating with being a finalist for the American Football Coaches Association Assistant Coach of the Year award in 2011. In his first season at Albright, his defense went from allowing an average of 235.4 yards per game to 175.1 yards per contest, helping to guide Albright to an ECAC South Atlantic championship. His tenure as defensive coordinator was marked specifically by stout run defense, ranking in the top half of the Middle Atlantic Conference in rush defense, total defense and scoring defense in four of his last five seasons. His 2008 defense led the conference and ranked 33rd nationally, allowing just 16.9 points per games and appeared in the ECAC South Central Bowl… Darwin Breaux is in his 23rd season guiding the Red Devils. He has compiled a 129-101-1 record and guided Dickinson to the five post-season appearances, including a 2006 NCAA appearance after winning the CC championship and an ECAC appearance in 2008. The 129 wins are the most by any Red Devil mentor.

THE WORD ON DICKINSON: The Red Devils enter today's game off a 34-7 loss at No. 10 Johns Hopkins last Friday. The Blue Jays took a 34-0 lead just 21 seconds into the second half. Dickinson didn't find the end zone until a 43-yard John McAlister run with 1:40 to play in the game… The Red Devils were outgained 493-217 on the night, marking the fifth time in six games the team has been outgained by its opponent. The lone game where Dickinson had more yards than its opponent was Sept. 12 against Juniata, outgaining the Eagles 387-162 in a 10-0 win… Cedric Madden is sixth in the conference in rushing yards per game, averaging 66.2 yards per game. He has a team-best 101 yards, netting 397 yards with two touchdowns… Anders Overhaug has five rushing scores among his 70 carries for 357 yards… As a team, the Red Devils are third in the conference in rushing yards, averaging 225.8 yards per game… Dickinson is currently last in the CC in yards per game, averaging just 308.7 yards per contest. The Red Devils have only been able to muster 82.8 yards per game through the air – the fewest in the conference by more than 85 yards per game. In fact, they rank 237th of 241 teams in Division III… Chris Soulas, who has two rushing touchdowns, also has one of Dickinson's two receiving scores… Jake Myers leads the defense with 62 tackles, including 3.5 for loss and 2.0 sacks. He also has two pass breakups… Kevin Sherry has four sacks… Josh Richardson also has 2.0 sacks and 4.0 tackles for loss… Mark Manganaro has blocked two kicks this year. The Red Devils have four blocked kicks as a team this year, which leads the CC.
