Keen debuts with goal in opening win

ARLINGTON, Va. – McDaniel finished with a 25-2 advantage in shots, defeating Greensboro 2-1 in the opening round of the Marymount Invitational in women's soccer action on Friday.

Lindsey Keen (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) scored what proved to the difference in her collegiate debut, leading the Green Terror (1-0) to a season-opening win for the third straight year.

Samara Alba got the Pride (0-1) on the scoreboard with an unassisted tally at the 86:13 mark.

Meghan Sturgill (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) opened the scoring with a tally from short range off a feed from Nicole Hill (Bowie, Md./Bowie) in the 57th minute.

Keen doubled the advantage off an assist from Catherine Wroblewski (Glen Mills, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) in the 83rd minute.

The Green Terror returns to action against Hood on the second day of the tournament on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
