Pisauro throws five innings of shutout relief in win

Box Score

WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel scored seven runs in the first two innings before holding on to defeat Dickinson 7-5 in Centennial Conference (CC) baseball action on Friday.

David Pisauro (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) came on in the fifth inning for the Green Terror (13-14, 7-5 CC) and went the rest of the way on the hill, striking out four and allowing just two hits to pick up the win.

Marshall Betts (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) led the offense with two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Ryan Dolan and Mark Adams led the Red Devils (18-9, 4-7 CC) with two hits apiece.

Sean Sivo (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) drew a walk to lead off the bottom of the first inning inning before moving to second on a groundout.

A Marty Windisch (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) single put runners at the corners before Betts drove in Sivo with a single.

A fielder's choice gave Dickinson its second out in the inning before three straight walks to Cameron Bahr (Southampton, N.J./Seneca), Joe Fiore (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Beach) and Andrew Hofmeister (Baltimore, Md./McDonogh) pushed the lead to 3-0.

Joseph Tursi drew a walk to lead off the second before a Mark Adams single put runners at the corners.

After a fly out, Phil Werner drove in Tursi to make it a 3-1 game.

Sivo led off the bottom of the frame with a single up the middle before taking second on a wild pitch.

A Betts two-out RBI single and Nick Valori (Sewell, N.J./Washington Twp.) double stretched the lead to 5-1 and chased the Red Devil starter.

Bahr greeted Tyler Clauson-Wolf with a double to plate Valori before Fiore was hit by a pitch and Hofmeister walked to load the bases.

An error allowed Bahr to score for a 7-1 lead.

Adams roped a one-out double before back-to-back errors allowed Adams to score and put runners at second and third.

Brian McCloud followed with a two-run double before scoring on a Dolan two-out single to cut the deficit to 7-5.

After the first two batters reached in the fifth inning, Pisauro came in and allowed just four of the 18 batters he faced reach base.
