Entrot tallies four and two in victory

WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel outscored Muhlenberg 11-4 after halftime to notch a critical 15-10 Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse victory on Saturday.

Danielle Entrot (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) recorded all six of her points in the second-half rally for the Green Terror (7-5, 3-3 CC), notching four goals and adding two assists. Julia Jacobs (Stevensonville, Md./St. Mary's) added four goals and two assists of her own.

Stephanie Umbach led the Mules (7-5, 1-4 CC) with four goals.

Trailing 7-5 after Bridget Bopst (Westminster, Md./South Carroll) and Ally Shaffer traded goals in the first 2:07 of the second half, Entrot finished a feed from Jacobs to start a 4-0 run with 25:05 on the clock.

Monica Parcell (Prospect Park, Pa./Interboro) converted a free-position shot with 22:22 showing before hitting Allison Farrell (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) 1:48 later for an 8-7 lead.

Just 34 seconds after that, Farrell blasted home a free-position goal to extend the lead to two.

Kayleigh Thies drew the visitors back within one with 19:07 showing but Jacbos and Entrot needed just 66 seconds to stretch the lead to 11-8.

Entrot hit Jacobs with 12:08 showing before finishing a feed from Abby Phillips (Pylesville, Md./North Harford) 57 seconds later.

Another Entrot solo run 23 ticks later pushed the lead to 14-8 before Umbach and Michelle Certosimo trimmed the deficit to 14-10 with 5:45 to play.

A Jacobs unassisted tally set the final margin with 3:26 on the clock.

Sam Barbeito (Wolfsville, Md./Middletown) staked McDaniel to a 1-0 lead on a free-position shot just 2:25 into the game before Umbach started a 5-0 Muhlenberg run that gave the visitors their largest lead with 14:59 showing.

Unassisted goals from Parcell and Jacobs and a Jacobs-to-Farrell connection closed the deficit to 5-4 with 9:41 on the clock before Umbach pushed the lead back to two just 2:09 before the break.

The Green Terror finished with a 41-19 advantage in shots, including a commanding 22-8 edge in the decisive second half.

Lauren McCadden (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) led the defense with three caused turnovers while Maggie Quinn (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) corralled seven draws.

McDaniel returns to action at home against Dickinson on Wednesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
