WESTMINSTER, Md. – Three days after losing on an extra-inning walkoff on its own field, McDaniel earned a season split with Johns Hopkins with a 5-2 Centennial Conference (CC) baseball victory on Friday.

After watching an early lead vanish on Tuesday, the Green Terror (10-13, 4-4 CC) did not allow the same thing to happen, building on a 3-0 lead to notch the first win over the Blue Jays (14-9, 2-5 CC) since 2001 and snap a 26-game losing streak.

Cameron Bahr (Southampton, N.J./Seneca) led a 12-hit attack for McDaniel with three hits, including a two-run double in the bottom of the seventh.

Raul Shah notched two of Johns Hopkins' seven hits on the day.

After Bahr reached on a one-out double in the bottom of the second, he scored on a Brandon Hayward (Salisbury, Md./J.M. Bennett) triple two batters later for a 1-0 lead.

Sean Sivo (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) drew a walk to lead off the home third before moving to second on a sacrifice.

A Marshall Betts (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) single up the middle plated Sivo for a 2-0 lead.

A Bahr double and Joe Fiore (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Beach) single put runners at the corners with no outs in the sixth.

After a sacrifice, Chris Morris (Wynnewood, Pa./Harrington) singled home Bahr for a 3-0 lead.

After a leadoff walk to John Maxwell, Jonathan Hettleman singled to put two runners on in the top of the seventh.

After a sacrifice bunt, a Conor Reynolds sacrifice fly scored pinch-runner Brian Lin and an errant throw went out of play to allowed Hettleman to score from second, drawing the visitors within 3-2.

A Nick Valori (Sewell, N.J./Washington Twp.) infield single and Tyler Gilbert (East New Market, Md./The Salisbury School) walk put two runners on with one out in the bottom of the frame.

After Gilbert was lifted for pinch-runner Chad Nazelrod (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley), Bahr roped a double down the right-field line to stretch the lead back to three.

In addition to Bahr's three-hit day, Betts and Valori both finished with two.

Michael Casper (Bridgeton, N.J./Cumberland Regional) pitched 6 2/3 innings to earn the win while Zach Kronick (Schenectady, N.Y./Guilderland) pitched the final 2 1/3 innings for the save.

McDaniel returns to action at Haverford on Saturday. The first game of the doubleheader begins at 12:30 p.m.
