Jacobs records six goals in victory

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – McDaniel scored five times in the game's first 9:50 en route to a 16-1 victory over Elizabethtown in non-conference women's lacrosse action on Wednesday.

Julia Jacobs (Stevensonville, Md./St. Mary's) recorded six goals and an assist to lead the Green Terror (3-0), whose 46 goals through three games is the most offensive output for the team since starting 2005 with 49 markers through the first three contests.

Megan DeMichele scored the lone goal for the Blue Jays (0-3), breaking up the shutout with 26:06 to play in the second half.

Sam Barbeito (Wolfsville, Md./Middletown) opened the scoring, finishing a Bridget Bopst (Westminster, Md./South Carroll) feed 41 seconds into the game.

Back-to-back Jacobs tallies – the first off one of four Barbeito assists and the second off an assist from Mallory Michel (Lititz, Pa./Warwick – stretched the lead to 3-0 with 23:23 showing.

Danielle Entrot (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) converted a free-position attempt 59 seconds later to push the advantage to 4-0.

Consecutive Barbeito-to-Entrot tallies completed the natural hat trick for Entrot with 17:54 on the clock.

Jacobs then went back-to-back 54 seconds apart, converting off assists from Monica Parcell (Prospect Park, Pa./Interboro) and Allison Farrell (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) to make it an 8-0 game with 15:50 on the clock.

Parcell made it 9-0 with 14:17 showing before Michel finished a solo run for her first marker of the season with 2:28 left in the first half.

Barbeito once again found Entrot for an 11-0 lead 2:08 into the second half.

After the DeMichele goal, Barbeito finished an assist from Abby Phillips (Pylesville, Md./North Harford) for the freshman's first collegiate point with 24:58 remaining.

Jacobs and Entrot pushed the advantage to 14-1 with 21:32 remaining before Farrell tallied with 17:13 on the clock.

Jacobs rounded out the scoring with her team-leading 12th goal of the season on a free-position shot with 5:32 to play.

McDaniel finished with a 24-4 advantage in shots. Lily Galzerano (Newburyport, Mass./Newburyport) to pick up the win in the net.

Entrot corralled four of the Green Terror's 13 draw controls. Barbeito also finished with five ground balls and two caused turnovers. Jaccobs had three caused turnovers.

McDaniel returns to action in the Centennial Conference opener at Bryn Mawr on Saturday. Game time is 12 p.m.
