COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus won the first nine events to key a 120-79 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's swimming action on Saturday.
Kelly Lewis (Montgomery Village, Md./Watkins Mill) led the Green Terror (0-4, 0-3 CC) with a victory in the 200 breaststroke, finishing in a time of 2:34.70.
Sydney Gundersen led the Bears (4-0, 2-0 CC) with two individual victories, touching first in the 1000 free (11:00.90) and 100 free (54.90 seconds). She was one of five Ursinus swimmers to win twice on the day.
In addition to Lewis' victory, McDaniel's 400 free relay of Samantha Smith (APO, AP, Thailand/International School of Bangkok), Becca Sykes (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton), Maddie Gamble (Colora, Md./Rising Sun and Meg Protzman (Elkridge, Md./Mount de Sales) won with a time of 3:53.53.
Lexie Jacobs (Forest Hill, Md./North Harford) finished second in both the 200 IM (2:19.0) and 200 butterfly (2:18.91), turning in the sixth-ranked time in program history.
Syd Knadler (Crowley Lake, Calif./Mammoth) was second in the 100 free (55.86 seconds) while Cara Dube (Milford, Conn./Joseph A. Foran) touched second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:17.93, which ranks seventh all-time.
Gamble added a third-place finish in the 1000 free, finishing in a time of 11:41.28 to break into the all-time top 10.
The Green Terror returns to action at St. Mary's (Md.) on Saturday. Meet time is 1 p.m.
