WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel will travel to DeSales for the first round of the 2014 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) South women's soccer tournament on Wednesday. Game time is 2 p.m.
The Green Terror (9-5-4) earned the No. 5 seed and will take on the fourth-seeded Bulldogs (10-6-4) in the quarterfinals of the eight-team tournament. McDaniel is making its second straight ECAC appearance.
The winner of Wednesday's game will meet the winner of the matchup between No. 1 Lebanon Valley (14-4-1) and No. 8 Waynesburg (8-8-3) in one of Saturday's semifinals. The other semifinal will pit the winners of No. 2 Arcadia (15-6)) and No. 7 Wesley (10-6-1) and No. 3 Muhlenberg (11-6-2) and No. 6 Wilkes (11-8). Matchups will take place at the site of the highest remaining seed. Game times will be determined once the host is set.
The championship game will take place between the two semifinal winners on Sunday.
Sophomore Nicole Hill (Bowie, Md./Bowie) led McDaniel during the regular season with five goals and a team-high eight assists for 18 points. Junior Maggie Quinn (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) added five goals.
Freshman Sarah McDonald (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) enters the tournament with a 0.53 goals-against average and .893 save percentage.
