Entrot scores six

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall, ranked eighth in the latest IWLCA Division III coaches poll, jumped out to a 12-4 halftime lead en route to a 21-13 Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse victory over McDaniel on Saturday.

Danielle Entrot (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) led the Green Terror (6-5, 2-2 CC) with six goals, tallying the final six goals for her team.

Emily Everdell paced the Diplomats (9-2, 4-0 CC) with five goals.

Brittney Jorgenson scored 10 seconds into the game to start a 4-0 flurry in the game's first 3:24.

Grace Saliba, Everdell and Ali Kelly added goals during the opening run before Julia Jacobs (Stevensville, Md./St. Mary's) broke up the run, finishing off a Bridget Bopst (Westminster, Md./South Carroll) feed with 25:08 showing.

Casey Madden stretched the lead to 5-1 before Jacobs completed her hat trick with tallies 1:08 apart, cutting the deficit to 5-2 with 20:42 to play in the opening half.

Everdall countered 1:06 later to spark a 5-0 burst capped by two Mary Mitchell solo runs 24 seconds apart, giving the hosts a 10-3 lead with 12:10 remaining.

Anna Beaudry (Amherst, Mass./Amherst Regional) hit a free-position shot with 11:42 on the clock before Caroline Doran and Kelly stretched the lead to 12-4 at the intermission.

Paige Messersmith (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) and Mallory Michel (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) scored 40 seconds apart to close the margin to 12-6 before a minute had elapsed in the second half.

Everdell and Beaudry traded markers before Jorgenson made it a 14-7 game with 26:08 remaining.

Entrot netted her first off a feed from Messersmith with 22:31 on the clockbefore Everdell and Madden accounted for the next four goals and Maggie Mae Shields hit a free-position shot to make it a 19-8 game with 9:30 to play.

Four straight Entrot markers in a 3-minute, 37-second span closed the margin to 19-12 with 2:38 showing.

Caroline Krohn sandwiched Entrot's final marker with two goals in the last 1:58 for the final score.

Messersmith added 10 draw controls and five ground balls to her goal and two assists.

McDaniel returns to action at home against No. 5 Gettysburg on Wednesday. Game time is 4 p.m.
