Molhenrich leads balanced attack

WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel tallied the game's first 11 goals en route to an 18-2 victory over Bryn Mawr in the Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse opener for both teams on Saturday.

Anna Molhenrich (Towson, Md./Mercy) led the Green Terror (4-1, 1-0 CC) to its third straight win with two goals and three assists. She was one of seven McDaniel players to notch two goals on the day.

Kathleen Magner and Zoe Fisher each scored for the Owls (2-2, 0-1 CC), who tallied once in each half.

Anna Beaudry (Amherst, Mass./Amherst Regional) dented the scoreboard early for the Green Terror, staking the hosts to a 1-0 lead just 52 seconds into the game.

Danielle Entrot (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) helped stretch the lead to 3-0, finishing a solo run with 27:22 to play before hitting Julia Jacobs (Stevensville, Md./St. Mary's) 24 seconds later.

Monica Parcell (Prospect Park, Pa./Interboro) and Bridget Bopst (Westminster, Md./South Carroll) took turns scoring to make it a 7-0 game with 18:53 remaining in the first half.

A Paige Messersmith (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) free-position goal pushed the lead to 8-0 with 14:30 showing before Molhenrich recorded her first two assists, finding Entrot and Samantha Barbeito (Myersville, Md./Middletown) 48 seconds apart for a 10-goal lead with 12:26 to play in the opening half.

Kaitlin Mahoney (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./Comsewogue) finished a solo run with 6:11 to play for an 11-0 lead before Fisher broke up with the shutout 1:21 later.

Goals from Sarah Rybak (Reisterstown, Md./Franklin) and Molhenrich pushed the lead to 12-1 at the break.

Barbeito, Mahoney and Molhenrich stretched the lead to 16-1 before 11 minutes had elapsed in the second half.

Madi Elie's (Olney, Md./Sherwood) first two collegiate goals came 3 minutes, 2 seconds apart for an 18-1 advantage with 8:45 remaining.

Magner set the final margin, scoring off an Ashton Dwyer assists with 7:40 to play.

Maggie Quinn (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) and Kate Keim (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) each had three ground balls for McDaniel.

The Green Terror returns to action at Rowan on Tuesday. Game time is 1 p.m.
