BLUEFIELD, Va. – McDaniel won all six singles matches, keying an 8-1 victory over Bluefield College in non-conference men's tennis action on Tuesday.
Brian Kron (Upperco, Md./North Carroll) and Matthew Langsdale (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) combined for an 8-1 win at doubles and each notched 6-1, 6-0 wins in singles play to lead the Green Terror (3-1), who opened the spring schedule with a victory.
Jordan Owens and Chas Sronestreet notched the only win for the Rams (1-7), winning 8-5 at No. 1 singles.
Seth McFall (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) and Daniel Xinis (Owings, Md./Northern) added an 8-5 win at third doubles to the Kron and Langsdale victory in the second slot to take a 2-1 lead after doubles.
Kron dropped just one game at No. 2 singles while Langsdale registered his 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 5.
McFall made it a 2-0 day in his debut, winning 6-4, 6-4 at third singles while Xinis rounded out double winners by a 6-1, 6-1 margin at No. 6.
Steve French (New Windsor, Md./Francis Scott Key) recorded an 8-5 win at first singles while Chad Palman (Montgomery Village, Md./Gaithersburg) was victorious 8-4 at fourth singles.
The Green Terror returns to action at Ferrum on Wednesday. Match time is 3 p.m.
