LANCASTER, Pa. – Bryan Nuckles (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond-Suffolk Academy) finished eighth in the 50 free to lead McDaniel to an seventh-place finish at the 2011 Franklin & Marshall Invitational in men's swimming action on Saturday and Sunday.

The Green Terror amassed 175 points at the eight-team invitational, which was won by Washington and Lee with 1,022.5 points.

Nuckles, which completed the weekend's shortest race in a time of 22.24 seconds, was also part of four of the team's five A-relays. He was also 13th individually in the 100 free with a time of 49.75.

The top finish came in the 200 free relay, in which Nuckles teamed with Stephen Hoyt (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury), James Eu (Reston, Va./Hargrave Military Academy) and Jesse Mills (Catonsville, Md./Mt. St. Joseph) to finish seventh in a time of 1:31.00. The time is fourth-best in program history.

Hoyt, Eu, Nuckles and Patrick Rogers (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) were eighth in the 800 free relay with a time of 7:33.66 – a time which ranks ninth all-time on the Green Terror list.

Hoyt, Eu, Jono Leafblad (Garnee, Ill./Warren Twp.) and Nuckles placed ninth in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:47.31, which is also ninth on the program's all-time list.

Jon Hartzel (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg), Eu, Mills and Nuckles were 10th in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:42.56.

The quartet of Rogers, Hartzel, Mills and Hoyt rounded out the relays with a ninth-place showing in the 400 free relay (3:27.60).

Eu, Hoyt and Hartzel also swam times that ranked on individual top-10 lists.

Eu finished eighth in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:03.10, which ranks sixth.

Hoyt placed 19th in the 100 butterfly with a time of 55.72, which ranks seventh all-time.

Hartzel was 15th in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:06.38, which ranks ninth all-time.

Hartzel added a ninth-place finish in the 100 backstroke with a time of 56.90 seconds). Rogers also added a top-10 individual showing, placing ninth in the 200 free (1:49.89).

Leafblad was 11th in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:26.12 while Jason Harder (Philadelphia, Pa./Pennington) placed 14th in the 200 butterfly (2:11.41).

McDaniel had five 17th-place finishes, just missing scoring points at the invitational.

Hoyt was 17th in the 200 IM (2:06.25) and 200 backstroke (2:08.50) while Rogers touched 17th in the 500 free (5:08.23).

Jospeh Odierno (Deale, Md./Southern) was 17th in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.52) while Andrew Widmann (Bowie, Md./DeMatha) touched 17th in the 100 backstroke (1:06.18).

The Green Terror returns to action at Dickinson on Jan. 14. Meet time is 2 p.m.
