Box Score Seahawks outshoot Green Terror 42-8 in opener for both
teams
ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Jan Woolley (Ephrata,
Pa./Ephrata) made 20 saves in her first collegiate start between
the pipes to key a 1-all double-overtime draw for McDaniel in
season-opening women's soccer action at St. Mary's (Md.) on
Friday.
The Green Terror (0-0-1) got on the board early with an
unassisted tally by Hilary Hanus (Hockessin, Del./Cab Calloway
School of the Arts) just 2 minutes, 49 seconds into the game.
The Seahawks (0-0-1) responded with a Tori Eskay chip to the far
post just 7:50 later before the defenses took over.
St. Mary's finished with a commanding 42-8 advantage in shots,
including a 13-2 edge in the pair of 10-minute extra sessions but
Woolley came up with all the necessary saves to preserve the
tie.
Liz Beall
(Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) had two shots off the bench for
McDaniel while Eskay and Yvonne Latour each had eight to pace the
Seahawks.
The Green Terror returns to action at Stevenson on Thursday.
